Two suicides in Hyderabad: A distraught student and an NEET aspirant

HYDERABAD: Two girl students allegedly committed suicide by hanging in separate incidents in the city, the police said today.

The deceased are identified as Mounika (20), a final-year BTech student of a private college, and a 17-year-old intermediate second year student.

According to police, Mounika hanged herself in the bathroom of her house last afternoon in Suraram Colony following an "argument" with her mother.

A social media post attributed to Mounika reads: "Nowadays...I am afraid to be happy...I don't know y people don't want to look at me when I am happy in my life. Every moment in my life is going so worst...I am just passing out through them...by learning lessons from everything happening my life".

A case was registered under section 174 of CrPC in this regard, Dundigal police station inspector Shankaraiah said.

In another incident, the 17-year-old girl hanged herself from a ceiling fan with stole in her hostel room in Madhapur area last night.

She was undergoing coaching for NEET for medicine at a private educational institute, a police official said, adding that the girl was taken to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared her as brought dead.

A family member of the deceased said they didn't know why she took the extreme step.

A case was registered in this regard and further probe is on.
