Road Task Force set up to monitor road repairs in Hyderabad

The task force will include engineers from various government departments like GHMC, HMWS&SB, HMDA, TSIIC and Roads and buildings.

HYDERABAD: Urban Development minister KT Rama Rao announced on Wednesday that a Road Task Force has been set up by Telangana government to monitor the road repair works to be conducted in Hyderabad as part of the Rs 20,000 crore to develop Hyderabad’s infrastructure. The task force will include engineers from various government departments like GHMC, HMWS&SB, HMDA, TSIIC and Roads and buildings. The minister also announced that 350 vulnerable points have been identified on various roads in the city where traffic jams are witnessed. On those areas, white top roads will be laid for which `130 crores will be spent.
He said that while only 50 engineers are monitoring the infrastructure works in the city, it will be increased to 150 engineers for a single ward of GHMC itself.
