Missing woman found hanging from tree, parents allege murder

Body of a missing woman was found hanging to a tree at an abandoned place in Balaji Nagar of Kukatpally on Thursday.

HYDERABAD: Body of a missing woman was found hanging to a tree at an abandoned place in Balaji Nagar of Kukatpally on Thursday. Her parents allege that she was murdered and hanged. Police said that they are waiting for PME report.

The deceased woman identified as Mounika, a native of Karimnagar district, had come to city a few years ago. She was working as a warden of a private coaching centre hostel in Kukatpally. On Wednesday, Mounika went missing and next day, her body was found hanging to a tree at Balaji Nagar.

On receiving information, Kukatpally police rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem at Gandhi hospital. Following the incident, Mounika’s parents lodged a complaint that one Rajasekhar, who was moving closely with their daughter, has murdered her. Based on the complaint, police registered a case of suspicious death. Meanwhile, reports emerged that accused Rajasekhar was earlier involved in a case of sexual assault and was recently released from jail.
