No ‘mulakath’ for undertrial IS sympathisers

Following the incident of attack on warders by three under-trials, alleged sympathisers of terror outfit Islamic State, the prisons officials have banned mulakath (visiting time) for Ibrahim Yazdan

HYDERABAD: i, Iliyas Yazdani and Ataullah Rahman for three hours, under the Prisons Rules. On Saturday, the trio who are under trials at Chanchalguda central prison, attacked warder K Sampath and few others for stopping them to enter a main gate that leads to exit of the jail. Warder Sampath suffered severe fist blows to his left eye. 


A case was registered against them at Dabeerpura police station after the jail superintendent Murali Babu lodged a complaint.  Director General(Prisons) V K Singh after conducting a review about the status of the prisoners, issued orders on Monday, suspending the mulakath’s for the three under trials for another three months, under Prison Rules. So far, the eight IS sympathisers were attending the trial through video conference due to security reasons. On Monday the accused were all taken to the court for the trial.
