Notifications for 66 jobs that require Urdu-conversant candidates released in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: In order to aid government officials’ understanding of Urdu, the State government on Monday notified 66 job openings in group 1 and group 2 categories. The pre-requisite for the job offer is to have an understanding of Urdu language either in the form of medium of instruction or as one of the second languages in the aspirant’s educational qualifications.

“A huge section of Urdu-speaking minority population read Urdu newspapers and a lot of it is not understood by the officials. The openings are a way forward to assist the State in translating and interpreting the script,” said AK Khan, adviser, Telangana State Minorities Welfare Department (TSMWD). Besides that, the job roles would also include documenting work in Urdu, he added.

The notification for the job postings can be accessed at www.tsua.in and the last date for submission of the applications is April 23. The examination is scheduled to be held on May 20. TSMWD is holding the examination in coordination with JNTU. Currently, there are 1,561 Urdu-medium schools in the State with 1,38,061 students. Though there are 6,848 teachers, 1,667 vacancies are still to be filled, informed officials.

For the six Group 1 job openings, post-graduation is the minimum educational qualification while for Group openings, under graduation is the minimum qualification. The candidates can be of any stream and need to be in the age group of 21-44 years of age, officials informed. For more details, candidates can contact 9346180688.

Finance dept gives nod for filling 1,616 posts
Hyderabad: The finance department on Monday issued four GOs, according permission for filling 1,616 vacant posts in various departments of the state government by direct recruitment through TSPSC. The permissions pertain to four vacancies in the department of animal husbandry, 499 in home, 628 in Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (MJPTBCWREIS) and 485 in the category of constables in the home department.
