HC gives nod to Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority over auctioning open plots

The Hyderabad High Court on Friday permitted the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to go ahead with the process of auctioning open plots.

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday permitted the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to go ahead with the process of auctioning open plots situated at Mayuri Nagar college in Miyapur of Rangareddy district.

The Court made it clear to the HMDA not to finalise any bids until further orders. Justice M S Ramachandra Rao was passing this interim order in a petition filed by the Mayuri Nagar welfare association committee challenging the action of the HMDA in auctioning the plots meant for public purpose.

Petitioner’s counsel T Charan told the court that the HMDA had already auctioned some of the plots allotted for public purpose, and were making efforts to auction the remaining plots in the above area. Disputing with the above submissions, HMDA counsel Y Rama Rao sought some time for filing counter affidavit in the case.

In fact, the proposed auction would take place on April 19 this year, he added. After hearing both sides, the judge permitted the HMDA to continue with its auctioning process.
