Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to get cash award from PM Narendra Modi

HYDERABAD: For being a role model for the cities across the country in floating the Municipal Bonds, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is going to receive a cash incentive of Rs 26 crore from Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in Lucknow on July 28 (Saturday).

GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and GHMC Commissioner, B Janardhan Reddy will receive the award. Of the Rs 1,000 crore municipal bonds, GHMC received Rs 200 crore in the first tranche, they would be going the second tranche of Rs 200 crore soon.

The GHMC would Rs 26 crore incentive for Rs 200 crore. Prime Minister has been advocating the urban local bodies to go municipal bonds for infrastructure development in their respective cities.
