Ganja peddlers caught in Gachibowli

As many as 33 persons who were not carrying any valid identity proofs and three others with a criminal past were also apprehended during the operation on Saturday midnight.

HYDERABAD: Two ganja peddlers were nabbed during a cordon and search operation at Gachibowli. As many as 33 persons who were not carrying any valid identity proofs and three others with a criminal past were also apprehended during the operation on Saturday midnight. A Venkateswar Rao, DCP Madhapur said the operation was conducted as a preventive measure for public safety.

The operation was conducted at Lodhi basthi in Nanakramguda village under Gachibowli police station limits. Police searched 542 houses during the operation and nabbed two persons in possession of Ganja.
Durgesh and his sister Pooja, were selling ganja in small amounts to the residents in the village. They told police that they were procuring the drug from Dhoolpet in city. Durgesh also had a sword, which he claimed, had obtained a very long ago.

They were both booked under relevant sections of IPC and will be produced before the court said police. In addition, 33 persons who did not  carry any identity proofs and three persons with a criminal past were apprehended for verifying their antecedents. They were let off after verification. 29 bikes and three autos without valid documents were also seized during the operation said police.
