HYDERABAD: Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday said that disputes over lands in LB Nagar Assembly constituency would be addressed within 15 days. He added that the government would not intervene in matters regarding structures that have come up on conservation or buffer zone on FTL level of water bodies.

KTR was responding to the demands from residents of LB Nagar where he held a Mana Nagaram programme recently. The minister held a meeting with deputy chief minister (Revenue) M Mahmood Ali and officials  from various departments on Monday. In the mana nagaram programme, the land disputes relating to 20 colonies were discussed in detail.

As most of these are ‘administrative issues’, the minister said they would be addressed within a fortnight. He found fault with the Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) for not rectifying records, leading to problems, and asked for them to be resolved. If amendments are needed to the Act, he said, the issue would be taken up in the Cabinet and a Bill would be introduced in the Assembly.

In case of assigned lands, the issue needs to be discussed in detail and after that a decision needs to be taken. In case of Wakf lands, a meeting would be held shortly with Deputy Chief Minister, Mahmood Ali  for taking appropriate action, Minister added. No Objection Certificate (NOC) will be issued to the builders who constructed buildings about 10 years ago on lands allocated to freedom fighters.

The Minister instructed the GHMC Zonal Commissioner (East) S Srinivas Reddy to construct a Sports Complex at Green Park Colony where 3,200 sq. yds is available. The double bed room  houses will be constructed wherever the clear title of the sites are available. The Press Colony, Wambey Colony at Mansoorabad and other colony  citizens will be given another chance for regularisation as per GOMs 58 and 59.
