1,200 posts needed for GHMC rejig

HYDERABAD: With State Government planning to reorganise 50 circles and 10 zones respectively under GHMC limits to improve governance and service delivery, the standing committee, which met here on Thursday, sought the State government to accord sanction for additional 1,200 posts with additional expenditure of `98 crore. 

The standing committee has passed proposals and requested the State government to reorganise circles from 30 to 50 and zones from  six to 10. It has proposed to approve revised norms for staffing pattern on the reorganisation of circles and zones, sanctioning of 1,200 posts with `98 crore expenditure on account of additional posts. The panel has also decided to invite tenders for establishing luxury washrooms at the rate of 50 per zone under Charminar Pedestrianisation (CPP), the dilapidated Murgi Chowk will be remodelled by constructing ground plus one floor market at `36 crore.
