HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed during the procession of Durgamatha idols at Malkajgiri, with the processions lead by Malkajgiri TRS corporator N Jagadish Goud and local congress leader Srinivas Goud, came face to face on Friday night. Both groups clashed with each other, leading to tense moments. Police rushed to the spot and dispersed the crowds, while the corporator and his two sons and Srinivas Goud and his associates were arrested immediately and sent to remand on Saturday.
According to police, both the leaders set up Durga matha pandals and also sought permission from police to carry out procession. On Friday night, when both groups came face to face, they entered into a fight due to grudges between Jagadish and Srinivas.
