HYDERABAD: YSR Congress Party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma on Tuesday alleged that ruling parties at the Centre have misused and diluted the powers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for their political needs.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, Padma said that in AP too, CM N Chandrababu Naidu misused various investigation agencies to target his opponents. “When CBI filed cases against TSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Naidu and his men were all praises for the agency. But now that CBI is filing cases against TDP leaders, the party is criticising it,” she said.
“We remember how CBI acted slowly in TDP cases and but overdid it when it came to YSRCP leaders. BJP or the Congress, whoever at power in Delhi, Naidu befriended them and tried to suppress Jagan politically in AP. But people do not like it when investigating agencies behave like pets, she said.
