MANUU’s alumni association president gets legal notice

HYDERABAD: In continuation to the controversy surrounding levelling of allegations regarding various irregularities in Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) by none other than its Chancellor and nephew of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on whom the university is named, Firoz Bakht Ahmed, on Monday the Chancellor’s lawyers served legal notice to MANUU Alumni Association, president, Aijaz Qureshi asking him for an apology for defaming the Chancellor in a video.

 Qureshi has also been warned in the notice of civil or penal action suite In the video, Qureshi had called Ahmed a ‘RSS stooge’ and alleged that it was only because of his RSS connection that Ahmed was made a Chancellor.

Qureshi also questioned Ahmed’s knowledge regarding the role of a Chancellor, raised doubts on his capability to teach.
