KOCHI: Amrita School of Business, Kochi, is organising ASTHRA ‘12, an inter-collegiate B-Fest at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham here on March 17 and 18.

ASHTRA ’12 is intended to create an arena where aspiring business minds can showcase their talents in different fields of management such as marketing, finance, HR, operations and systems.

The fest is expected to be attended by about 500 students from various colleges. The programme is being planned as an educative and exhilarating experience for all, with a variety of events, spanning all disciplines of management, coupled with invigorating cultural events.

The prime attraction at the fest will be various competitions, labelled ‘forums’ which would see winners pocketing liberal cash prizes, ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 25,000. The Marketing Forum, ‘Manvantara’, aims at testing the creative side of participants. The Human Resource Forum will lay focus on testing character and intuition, which are vital elements in a good HR manager’s profile. The Finance Forum, ‘Arthashastra’, aims at developing acumen and tapping the instincts towards financial markets.

And if you are a tech freak, then participating at the Systems Forum, called ‘Prakramam’, will give you the opportunity to deal with difficult business problems that can be solved only with IT whiz. The Operations Forum, ‘Pracharya’, will provide students an opportunity to debate topical issues in the field. The other events scheduled at the fest include the hunt for the ‘best manager,’ a business quiz and a business idea contest.
