Glam team to don legal robes

Five years ago, Muthumani Somasundaram had played her part well as an advocate in Sathyan Anthikad’s film, ‘Innathe Chinthavishayam’.

A few years and a handful of  films later, this fair-skinned beauty is converting her reel life adventure into a real life experience.

On Sunday, the student of NUALS 2008 batch  enrolled herself as an advocate at the Kerala  High Court.

“I am quite ready to start my service as a lawyer at the High Court. If acting does not take up much time, I will also devote some time for it. However, my priority is for my career as a lawyer,” said the film actress, who has films like Rasanthanthram to her credit.

The actor-turned lawyer had worked as an auditor in a private firm prior to her stint of earning a post graduate degree in business law. Muthumani is the daughter of N Somasundaram and Shirley Somasundaram, both teachers by profession.

Her husband Arun P R is currently working as station head at Radio Mango. Another member of the glam team joining the legal profession is anchor Veena Nair. “Learning this subject has been in my blood as a lot of my family members are advocates.

I had a fiery passion to study all aspects of law. I am not entirely sure that I will take this up as a career, but I am planning to pursue a higher degree in law in the coming days,” said the lanky anchor from Thiruvananthapuram.

She had pursued her LLB from the Law Academy there.
