Minister to give away State Business Excellence Awards

The Cochin Herald and Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry have announced the Kerala State Business Excellence Awards 2013. Riaz Ahmad of Abad Group has been elected as the businessman of the year.

Kochouseph Chittilappillyof V-Guard will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award winnersare Shamshudheen Karimbanakkal-Taking Kerala Abroad, K Shamji- KeralaGlobal Achiever, B Bhadra, Deputy Mayor, Cochin-Politicianof the Year, AbdulAzeez-Best Builder, Gopu Nandilath-Retailer of the Year and Ranji John-FMCG Award.

The award focuses on largeas well as small entrepreneurs who are looking forward for world class facilities and grabbing opportunities and facing the challenges and opportunities, said the committee in a press release.

The jury chairman is professor Ujjwal Chowdhury, former Dean of Symbiosis University and Sanjeev Yashwant Save, Godrej Properties, K V Shamshudheen, Barjeel Geojit and NisheshSha, president, ICCI.

Union Minister K V Thomas will distribute the awards here on Saturday at 6 pm. Minister K M Mani, Cochin Herald Chief Editor Ansif Ashraf, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Nishesh Shah and Sharjah Free Zone Authority Director General Rashid AlLeem will participate in the function.
