Accused Surrenders Before Tamil Nadu Police

Sam Lonan, a member of the Maradu Aneesh Gang who threw a high intensity cracker at the residence of another gangster last week surrendered at Madurai before the Tamil Nadu police. Police officials said that Sam along with another person has surrendered before the Tamil Nadu police for evading arrest as the Kerala Police were after him in Tamil Nadu. Police officials in Kochi said that they have started proceedings to bring him to Kochi and a petition in this regard would be filed before the court in Madurai.

Police found that Sam Lonan had left for Tamil Nadu and reached Dindigul where Maradu Aneesh’s gang is based now.

According to a police official, Sam Lonam belonging to Thottakattukara met Maradu Aneesh at Madurai Central Jail recently where Aneesh is detained now. A police team is camping in Tamil Nadu for further probe.  Police officials believe that Sam and another person threw the cracker at the residence of Rajesh, a close associate of Bhai Nazeer for threatening them. The police got information that the accused persons were using several SIM cards to hoodwink the police. Besides, they were also making use of different vehicles to prevent the police from tracing them using the cameras at the traffic junctions.

“After throwing the cracker, they left the bike at Mamangalam area. Later, they used two other bikes and a car to get out of the city. Since they knew that police cyber cell would be tracking their mobile phones, they kept changing the SIM cards frequently,” a police official said.  The police also received the photograph of another person who is suspected to have been with Sam Lonan while exploding the high intensity cracker.

However, they are yet to confirm his identity. He is suspected to be a new recruit to Maradu Aneesh gang.
