The stand-up show, ‘Pants of Fire’, will be staged at JT Pac this weekend
Laughs and more laughs

Sorabh Pant is regarded as one of India’s most successful comedians. He has done around 250 shows in many cities of India. But perhaps his most famous and popular one is ‘Pants of Fire’. This show, which has already been performed in 18 cities, across three countries, is now coming to Kochi.

Sorabh will be accompanied by Gujarat’s greatest comedian Sahil Shah, and Azeem Banatwalla.

Azeem is an engineer-turned-writer-turned-comedian. At 6’ 3” he immediately draws one’s attention. He has written on subjects like travel, humor, lifestyle, sport and technology in various magazines. He got interested in stand-up comedy when he interviewed comedian Vir Das for a magazine. Azeem is a regular at The Comedy Store, and has done scores of shows at pubs, college festivals, and corporate events.

Asked which comedians he admires the most, Azeem names British stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard. “He is a genius,” he says. “In India, I love Anuvab Pal.”

As for Sahil Shah, here is a description of him on the eastindia comedy website:

‘The official in charge of polishing the crown jewels, Count Sahil is a muscular, tall and incredibly handsome musician, in his dreams. He is known for his unstoppable puns and mental taxation.

His off-centre one liners have taken his comedy across the country, with shows in six cities. He is a regular at the Comedy Store as well as other stores where he shops for bargain products. He is considered as one of India’s most promising young comedians...honestly...God  promise.’

This wacky trio is performing this Sunday, July 28, 7 pm at the JT Pac. For more details and reservations contact 93495280579349528107. www.jtpac.org
