The alignment of the Kochi metro rail near Ernakulam South rail overbridge (RoB) is likely to be changed. As per the new alignment, pillars for the metro rail will be constructed near the RoB. The DMRC had already requested the Kochi Corporation authorities to sanction to the new alignment. On the basis of DMRC’s request, Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany will conduct a visit to the South RoB on Thursday. About the realignment, Chammany said he received a letter from the DMRC in this regard two days back. “We are planning to conduct a site inspection before giving sanction to the plan for realignment. Representatives of the DMRC and Kochi Metro Rail Limited will take part in the inspection,” Chammany said.
