Personal safety system developed

Amrita University’s Centre for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks has developed ‘Amrita Personal Safety System (APSS)’ device.

Amrita University’s Centre for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks has developed ‘Amrita Personal Safety System (APSS)’ device. APSS is a wearable device that will help a person establish contact with family and the police when in distress.

The device will remain inconspicuous, but has multiple options to ensure stealthy and secure communication it can be easily triggered in case of emergency.

The device can record conversations and can immediately communicate to multiple destinations by pressing a button or through SMS or voice calls. When needed, the device will also provide automated information to the nearest police station, hospital or fire station.

The APSS prototype will be unveiled during Amritavarsham 60, the 60th Birthday Celebrations of Mata Amritanandamayi, the chancellor of Amrita University, officials said.
