She wears many feathers in her hat. The beautiful Miraya Varma, based in Bahrain, who has already made a mark as a singer, is now debuting in Mollywood through ‘Kelvi’. The stunner who is also a dancer and model, says she has been in the entertainment industry ever since she could probably walk and talk.

Miraya will play a prominent role in Hashim Marikkar’s bilingual movie, a suspense-thriller by genre that revolves around the lives of a scriptwriter and a yesteryear actress. Interestingly, Miraya, who dons a  fun-loving, happy-go-lucky college girl in this movie, will also croon a song for the film.

“I am really happy to get a platform to work along with talented actors like Shwetha Menon, Manoj K Jayan and Pia Bajpai in my first movie in Mollywood itself. To work in Malayalam film industry is fun and nice,” says Miraya.

In the movie, Miraya plays Sanah, who is Shwetha’s character’s sister and Pia’s best friend.

Interestingly, this is not her first movie as she has acted in a couple of Middle-eastern movies. In a recently released Bahraini film, ‘Dead Sands’, the performance of her character Samara was lauded by critics.

“Since I have gained experience from those movies, I don’t find myself new to this field,” says a confident Miraya. “And the best part is that I’m singing a western song for ‘Kelvi’ in its Tamil and Malayalam versions,” adds the charming actress.

About her singing-cum-acting career, she says, “I feel great to wear dual roles.”

You may wonder how the Bahrain-born Miraya can fit into Malayalam industry, she reveals that her parents were stationed at Chennai before they left for Bahrain. She says, “My mother is an accomplished singer and dancer from Palakkad. So I am fluent in both Malayalam and Tamil.”

In fact, her favourite actors are Mohanlal, Mammootty and Jayaram, and she says, “I have grown up watching their movies.”

Miraya’s talent was first discovered by her mother when she was three and from then she started learning Bharatanatyam as well as Kathak.

The talented artist has performed, sung and danced at numerous stage shows.

And now, she is all set to work with a famous Punjabi musician, on a music video.

The album will be a mix of Arabic and Punjabi songs that will have her singing as well as acting.

Miraya has already released two music albums and the recently released one was a R&B single called ‘Second Chances’ with a known producer/songwriter and rapper Hamad Al Fardan.
