KOCHI: Considering the growing demand for Tamil movies in Kerala and the increase in number of viewers for Tamil movies here, C2H Network Pvt Ltd, is launching a Set Top Box services here which will allow the viewers to watch Tamil movies from home at the time of its theatrical release itself.
According to a press release issued here, C2H has already tied up with all major cable operators in Kerala like ACV, Kerala Vision, Bhoomika Digital, Kozhikode Cable Communicators and DEN. “C2H will be releasing its movies via addressable Set Top Box operators in Kerala, Karnataka, Mumbai and Tamil Nadu. C2H movies can be viewed in individual households by availing subscriptions from each respective cable operators,” according to the release. The charges to be paid for a new movie is `100 and for the subscribers, the movie will be telecast for a week. There will be three screenings every day.
C2H’s first release- JK Ennum Nanbanin Vaazhkai’, directed by Cheran is scheduled for a January 30 release. It will also be released in over 100 theatres across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Bangalore on the same day. The cast include Sharwanand, Nithya Menon, Santhanam and Prakash Raj.
The other major release scheduled in the later months of the year incldue Arjunan Kadhali starring Jai and Poornima, Vaaravo Vennilave starring Attaikathi Dinesh and Haripriya, Appavin Meesai directed by Rohini with Pasupathy, Cheran, Nazarand Nithya Menon playing the lead roles and Koditta Idangalai Nirapuga directed by Balan.
