Savour Various Realms of French Filmmaking

A French film festival, organised by Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum, will begin on Thursday

KOCHI: A French film festival, organised by Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum, the French language and cultural centre in Kerala, in association with the Cochin Film Society, will begin  from Thursday. The festival at the Children’s Park Theatre at Ernakulam will end on Sunday. There will be special screenings of children’s films for schools. The inaugural film of this festival is ‘Mia et le Migou’ (Mia and the Migoo), an animation film for kids directed by Jacques-Remy Girerd, which will be screened on Thursday 10.30 am. At 2.30 PM on the same day ‘La cour de Babel’ (School of Babel) directed by Julie Bertuccelli will be screened. At 6 PM the film ‘Quai d’Orsay’ (The French Minister) directed by Bertrand Tavernier will be screened.

Repeat screenings of the films Mia and the Migoo and School of Babel will be there on the   Friday  10.30 am and 2.30 pm. The last film directed by the French master director Francois Truffaut, ‘Vivement dimanche’ (Confidentially Yours) will be screened at 6 pm.

‘Lulu femme nue’ (Lulu In The Nude)by Salveig Anspach will be screened on Saturday  at 2.30 pm.

The festival ends on Sudnay with the screenings of ‘La Religieuse’ (The Nun) by Guillaume Nicloux and ‘The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas’ by  Arnaud des Palliares at 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm respectively.
