Bribery evidence against more cops in Kochi airport case

A police officer was allegedly paid almost Rs. 9 lakh in return for facilitating overseas travel without valid documents.

KOCHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the incidents of human trafficking through the Nedumbassery and Thiruvananthapuram airports has received information that more police officials are involved in the cases.

The investigation revealed that an officer  in the rank of sub-inspector (SI) who had been working on deputation at the Nedumbassery airport received Rs. 8.37 lakh as bribe from various travel agents, in return for facilitating overseas travel of various persons without valid documents.
