KOCHI: Kerala High Court Advocates’ Association has suspended former MP and noted lawyer Dr Sebastian Paul for his pro-media remarks in the stand-off between advocates and journalists.
According to the suspension notice, the executive committee of the association decided to take action against Sebastian Paul after it received complaints against the pro-media remarks in panel discussions on television and at public functions.
Meanwhile, Sebastian Paul denied receiving the suspension notice.
“But I came to know that the charge levelled against me was that I had defamed the Association. I have not defamed the Association, but took a principled stand on the issue. Membership of the Association should not become a barrier to voicing individual opinions on issues,’’ he said.
