KOCHI: Mercedes-Benz, premium car makers, has kick started their safe driving road-show exhibition titled ‘Safe Roads’ in the City at Rajagiri College on the other day. Safe Roads  is an CSR initiative to create road safety awareness in India and a joint initiative by Mercedes-Benz headquarters and corporate entities operating in India, which was flagged-off in New Delhi on April, 2015.

Jochen Feese, Head of Accident Research, Sensor Functions and Pedestrian Protection, Mercedes-Benz Cars, flagged off the show.

‘Safe Roads’ aims at spreading the message of road safety through physical demonstration, visual aids and research reports. The physical demonstration is being undertaken with the use of exhibits brought from Germany, providing a real life experience of safety measures that can potentially save lives in the event of road accidents. The most popular exhibit remains the Belt-Slide which enables visitors to experience the impact of seat belts in a simulated crash environment at low speed. The aim is to increase the percentage of seat belts usage for front row passengers including driver.
