KOCHI: A key accused involved in the online sex racket busted by City Police in 2016 who had been on run was landed in police net.After giving cops the slip for around a year, a key accused in a case related to an online sex racket has landed in police net.The arrested is Anson V S aka Ananthu, 29, a native of Kothamangalam. The police said the accused had taken the victim, a Kolkata native girl, to Bangalore and Kochi for prostitution after offering her a job. Interestingly, the accused was earlier selected as a civil police officer.

But he had to discontinue from the service before the completion of training after being arrested by the Crime Branch in a murder case in 2013. The Kochi City Police had busted the online sex racket in 2016 and arrested three persons, including owners of a city lodge located near the KSRTC bus stand in September last. The police team also rescued a girl from the lodge, who was trafficked from Kolkata and sexually abused by the accused.
