Transgender person found dead at Aluva

KOCHI: A transgender person was found dead under suspicious circumstances near the Aluva Town hall on Wednesday. The deceased is Gowri, 28, a native of Tamil Nadu.According to the police, the body was spotted in the bushes near the Railway Goods Shed by some pedestrians, who informed the police. An asbestos sheet was found lying on top of the body. Besides, there are marks on the neck, suspected to be that of a rope.

Though the police suspect it to be a case of murder, they have not confirmed it yet. According to the police, the incident might have happened on Monday night.The body has been shifted to the Kalamassery Government Medical College Hospital for conducting autopsy.“The police have registered a case for unnatural death. We are yet to ascertain the real cause of death. Once we get the postmortem report, we will impose other sections, if required,” an officer said.Gowri had been working as a labourer in the construction sector in Aluva for the past few years.
