KOCHI: To avoid shortage of cooking gas distribution during Onam, District Collector K Mohammed Y Safirulla has asked gas companies and distributors to ensure pending gas bookings are cleared before Onam.

Safirulla’s directive came at a meeting with LPG coordination committee at the collectorate conference hall the other day. At the meeting, he also directed the companies and the distributors to find out the bookings which remained pending for more than five days.

He said a report on the reasons for the pending bookings has been sought. “The dealership of agencies will be renewed only after getting the report. Several localities are not getting LPG delivery even after 10 days. Those in charge have been asked to find out about such cases,” Collector said. He said imposing transportation charges by delivery boys from consumers was unjustifiable.
