Thrust on Blue Economy research at Cusat: VC

Blue Economy will be the thrust area of research in Cusat in the coming years and Ocean Electronics will play a major role in this direction, said Cusat Vice-Chancellor J Letha.

KOCHI: Blue Economy will be the thrust area of research in Cusat in the coming years and Ocean Electronics will play a major role in this direction, said Cusat Vice-Chancellor J Letha. She was giving the presidential address at the three-day international symposium on Ocean Technology at the Cusat seminar complex.

NRB Scientific Computing Panel head K Paulose Jacob, who inaugurated the three-day symposium laid emphasis on the introduction of wireless sensoring network in Ocean Electronics research especially in the area of underwater explorations. Former director of National Institute of Ocean Technology M A Atmanand delivered the keynote address. The topic ‘Ocean Thermal Energy Conservation’ was highlighted at the symposium.
