KOCHI: Silk saree weavers, handloom clusters and Silk Co-operative Societies across the country have come together for the six-day Silk India Exhibition. The exhibition, Silk India-2017, organized by Hastashilpi Mysore, has begun its exhibition and sale at Gokulam Park Convention Center, Kaloor, Cochin. More than fifty stalls representing silk units from various states have come up at the venue. Out of different varieties of silk reared depending on climatic and geographic conditions,

Tussar, Eri, Mulberry and Muga are the prominent ones, said T Abhinand, co-ordinator of the event. “You can get to know about silk and silk products and buy them directly from the weavers and artisans,” he added. Arini silk saris, crepe and georgette silk saris, chiffon silk saris, Tussar silk sarees and suit, Kanjeevaram silk sarees and wedding saris, designer fancy saris, Darmavaram silk saris, raw silk and Tussar, Jute silk saris, Dhaka silk saris, handloom silk cotton saris, silk blends saris and stole, silk shawls, Uppada, Gadwal, Paithani sarees, Mangalagiri and Pochampalli silk saris are arrayed in various stalls for sale. Exclusive silk products from the states of Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Bihar,Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Goa, Jammu Kashmir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh are  exhibited.
