A wedding vow to cherish

A wedding vow to cherish

KOCHI: For most couples-to-be, who have their hearts set on a destination wedding, the Le Meridien Kochi offers a repertoire of themes.

However, the most sought-after theme is the Kerala theme. Families, who come down from North India hope to do an elaborately themed wedding, and they are quite enamoured by the land. “To add to this, the hotel has the backwaters as the perfect backdrop which leaves very less to be desired!” said Nilay Saran, director of sales and marketing.
The Kerala theme has resulted in a smaller version of a Kerala village, complete with a toddy shop and coconut trees. “The families would like the ‘sangeet’ event, prior to the wedding, to be themed differently, so we go all out to recreate the quintessential Kerala ambience within our premises and curate the wedding,” he said.

The hotel has its team of wedding planners who suggest themes and work on the process of restructuring the premises for the wedding. And their hard work has paid dividends.  Recently, the hotel received the ‘Best Wedding and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) Hotel 2017’ by the South India Travel Awards for its persistent commitment to innovation, quality and attention to detail.
As for the MICE honour, Le Meridian has the largest conference hall in the state, where conferences, board meetings and exhibitions are conducted.
“Medical conferences take place frequently. What we provide is a wholesome experience: the attendees can bring their families along, as the hotel provides a resort-cum-business experience. When a member of the family is attending the conference, the others are free to move around the campus and soak in the beauty,” said Bijo Varghese, business marketing executive.
“The award is a big boost for us working in the hospitality industry. It tells us that what we’ve been doing all along has been right. And we will be keeping up the good work,” said Nilay.
