ALAPPUZHA: The Kerala convention of the Federation of Kerala Associations in North America (Fokana) will be held at Lake Palace Resort here on Saturday. Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the meeting at 9 am.
Transport Minister Thomas Chandy will be the chief guest. Pennsylvania former Speaker John Perez and journalist M G Radhakrishnan will speak, Fokana president Thampi Chacko said on Wednesday. After the inaugural function, there will be seminars on business, tourism and media.
Ministers Kadakampally Surendran and C Raveendranath, MPs Anto Antony, Richard Hey and K C Venugopal, MLAs Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Adoor Prakash, Chittayam Gopakumar, V D Satheesan and Raju Abraham, Santhigiri Ashramam chief Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi, poet Rafeeq Ahammed, M N Karassery and journalists Thomas Jacob, M G Radhakrishnan, Johny Lukose, P M Manoj, Vinod Mathew (The New Indian Express, Editor-Kerala), Reji Lukose, Harilal and Anil Adoor will speak at the seminars, he said.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker P J Kurien will inaugurate the public meet to be held in the evening, said association general secretary Philipose Philip. Philipose Mar Chrysostum Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan, and writer M K Sanu will be felicitated at the function.
