KOCHI: Kerala Water Authority Managing Director A Shynamol on Monday appeared in person before the Kerala High Court and tendered an apology in a contempt of court case against her.
A Division Bench headed by Acting Chief Justice had earlier issued a bailable arrest warrant against her.
The petitioner submitted, on February 17, 2016, a Single Judge directed the MD to effect payment due to Engineering Projects India Ltd as part of price escalation for the work related to JNNRUM water supply scheme.
The empowered committee had decided to comply with the directives in the judgment and asked the KWA managing director to take immediate action. However, the then MD decided to file an appeal ignoring the committee decision, but the court dismissed the appeal.Following this, the Division Bench initiated contempt case.
The MD informed the court she had issued a fresh order complying with the court directive.
Recording the submission of the MD, the Bench closed the contempt proceedings against her.
