KOCHI: The citizens are obliged to take part in constitutional reforms as they are also part of the democratic setup,  Tushar Gandhi, great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi said here the other day. Delivering a lecture on ‘Civil Resistance in the Contemporary World’ at the Kerala History Museum here, Gandhi disclosed his views on proactive civilian resistance.

Addressing the  ‘Friends of Tibet’, the Mumbai-based Tibet support group, he said the duty of citizens is not merely to cast their votes alone. “They should also have a say in formulating policy. If they find the reforms and policies made by governing bodies anti-people, immoral or unethical, then there is nothing wrong in raising their voice and launching corrective steps,” he said.
