KOCHI: If the RSS initially used communal politics to establish power in the country, now they are using the same to retain power, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. He was speaking after inaugurating the cultural gathering organised at the Rajendra Maidan to protest against Gouri Lankesh murder. “The first attack of terror that hit the nation was the murder of Mahatma Gandhi. The second incident was the demolition of Babri Masjid and the third was the Gujarat massacre. These were carried out by the RSS to establish power in the nation. The murder of Gouri Lankesh and others is to retain power,” Kodiyeri said.

In New Delhi, an RSS supporter even tried to attack CPM general secretary. “Nearly 213 CPM workers have become the victims of RSS’ political violence after 1970,”  Kodiyeri said.
Crisis in IUML Selecting a person who threatened to resign from the party as the candidate for Vengara bypoll itself shows the political drain of Muslim League, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told reporters during an interaction. “This political poverty will definitely reflect in the results. The Vengara constituency usually favours them. But this time, there is a difference of opinion within the League over candidate selection,” he said.
