KOCHI: The Aluva East police on Wednesday arrested nearly a dozen persons in connection with the attack on Aluva East Police woman Sub-Inspector Jertina Francis.
Those arrested are Haris, Yazir and Raj of Edathala; Abdul Salam, Shameem, Anwar, Kunju Mohammed, Anas, Ibrahim and Nideesh from Kunjattukara and Haris of Pengattuserry, officers said.
According to the prosecution, the accused targeted the woman SI while the police team took Usman, who had been grievously injured in an incident involving a tiff with the occupants of a vehicle driven by plain-clothes policemen at Edathala, to the hospital on June 5.
