KOCHI: In a daring daylight robbery, an unidentified woman on Monday allegedly made away with a gold bracelet from a jewellery shop here. The theft occurred at the JK Jewellery in Broadway around noon, the Central police said. The CCTV footage from the shop showed the woman stealing the bracelet weighing 6.9 gm.
The shop owners became aware of the incident only after she left the shop. “Only two sales attendants were present at the showroom at the time. She asked them to show her other patterns and while the staff were busy trying to get her the new patterns, the woman took the items and hid it in the bag.
They grew suspicious after she left and they weighed the entire ornaments kept in front of her. A difference of around 6 gms was found,” said an officer.Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation is on. There has been no arrest in the case so far.
