Mumbai to continuing receiving heavy showers

MUMBAI: Mumbai along with coastal Maharashtra is likely to continue receiving heavy showers over next five days, the IMD has said adding that the monsoon has returned to most parts of the state and isolated places across the state too shall receive heavy to very heavy rainfall over next couple of days.

Mumbai along with coastal Maharashtra has been receiving heavy rains since about a week. The trend is likely to continue for a week more, the IMD has said in its forecast released this evening. The sea is likely to be very rough and the fishermen have been advised not to venture into the seas for next couple of days, the IMD warning has said.

Along with heavy rains in coastal Maharashtra, the central part of the state, Marathwada and Vidarbha too are likely receive good rain over next week, the IMD has said.

The interior parts of the state had been witnessing a long dry spell since past couple of weeks and fears of second sowing too were expressed. However, with the forecast of week-long heavy rains spell the farmers are likely to be happy.
