A ‘Linux Install Fest’ will be held as part of Dishaa ‘09, the annual event of the Computer Science Department of the Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, on February 28 and March 1 at Kanakakkunnu Palace. The fest is being organised in association with the Free Software Users Group (FSUG).

Dishaa, which caters to both the cultural and technical aspirations of students, had conducted the first such fest in the State in its previous edition. This year also, Dishaa will be committed to free software promotion as per the IT norms of the Government of Kerala.

The highlights of the event will be on-the-spot free Linux installation facility for the submitted laptops and desktops, an exhibition which gives an insight into the world of Linux, quiz competition for Linux fans, Linux gaming facility and availability of more than 100 operating systems with installation guidance, free of cost. There will be an exclusive Technical Support Cell (FSUG and RHCE) at the venue for clarifying doubts.
