Responding to the Expresso article ‘Polluting with an expired licence’ dated February 3, Sanjeev Thomas, General Manager, Operations, English Indian Clays Limited (EICL), has said that the company operations are as per the prescribed norms of air and water quality.
He said that the company has invested substantially over the years in pollution control technology and equipment. Latest technology bag-filters have been installed to control dust emission across all plants. The company has also set up an effluent treatment plant and reverse osmosis plant to recycle the processed water.
Besides, EICL has also installed a sand recovery plant for recovering sand for construction, he said.
