THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kshema Foundation has announced the A P Aslam Memorial Awards for the year. The awards are instituted in memory of late A P Aslam, who was the administrator of Sabeel Palace, Dubai.

Addressing mediapersons here on Friday, office-bearers of the Foundation said that the award in the category of science and technology would be presented to Delhi Metro former managing director and Planning Commission member E Sreedharan.

The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 25,000, certificate and a citation.

The award in the category of commerce and industries will be presented to Siddique Ahammed, managing director of Iram Group, Saudi Arabia.

The achievement award will be presented to Santhi Medical Information Centre, Thrissur, for its welfare activities for kidney patients.  The award jury comprised Pandalam Sudhakaran, Dr Achuthsankar S Nair, E M Ashraf, E M Najeeb and Dr Sandeep Varma.

The award will be presented at a function to be held at Kalpakancherry in Malappuram district on April 28 at 6.30 p.m.
