The First Additional Sessions Court on Wednesday posted delivering the verdict on the sensational murder case of gangster Aprani Krishnakumar to April 23.
Judge K P Indira was scheduled to pronounce the verdict on Wednesday. The judge directed the police to produce the case diary before April 23 as the defence counsel made a contention that the investigation into the case was incomplete.
The case pertains to the murder of gangster Aprani Krishnakumar in 2007. The trial in the case had concluded in March.
The prosecution had examined as many as 96 witnesses in the case and produced several material evidence, bank transactions of the key accused and their mobile phone communication details.
Notorious gangsters such as Om Prakash and Ambalamukku Krishnakumar, who were convicted for the murder of another gangster Kannadi Shaji, were accused in the case, along with seven others.
The trial of the case had witnessed several dramatic events right from the first day with the key witnesses complaining of criminal intimidation from the part of the accused. Prime witness Ullas and his mother were attacked a few days into the commencement of the witness examination, following which Om Prakash was arrested.
Om Prakash had dramatically gone absconding during the trial session. Four key accused in the case are also missing since 2008 after procuring a bail from the court.
Special Public Prosecutor V Sajan Prasad appeared before the court on behalf of the prosecution.
