Deputy Opposition leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will inaugurate the 46th state conference of the Kerala Municipal and Corporation Staff Union (KMCSU) at the AKG Hall on Saturday.
The conference will give final shape to the agitations against attempts to scuttle decentralisation and civil service. “It will also give shape to programmes for creating people-friendly municipalities and corporations,” CPM district secretary Kadakampally Surendran, who also chairs the reception committee of the conference, said.
