MKK Nair Cultural Centre Silver Jubilee

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Union Minister and veteran BJP leader O Rajagopal will inaugurate the silver jubilee of the M K K Nair Cultural Centre at Pakalkuri on December 29. Former Chief Secretary R Ramachandran Nair will  deliver the keynote address. Perinad Sadanandan pillai will preside.

M K K Nair award comprising a cash prize of Rs 11,111 and a citation will be given away to M Gopakumaran Nair. Shiromani N K Kumaran memorial Panditha Ratna award will be given away to D Babu Paul, former Additional Chief Secretary. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 11,111 and citation.

M K K Nair Vedashri award carrying a cash prize of Rs 11,111 and a citation will be given away to Thuravoor Viswambharan.

T S K Menon memorial M K K Kathakali award comprising Rs 5555 and citation will be bestowed on Kalamandalam Sivadasan. Faizal Pakalkuri, Jagadamma Adukkoor and Kalabharati Ajayan also will be given M K K Kalaphshanam award, R Narayanapillai Karshaka award and  V R Prabodhachandran Nair  award respectively. All these awards carry  cash prize of Rs 5555 each and citations.

Elocution Contest

T’Puram: The Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram district committee has announced an elocution contest for high school and college students in the district.

The topic for high scool students is ‘Vivekananda’s Vision and Young Generation’ and for college students ‘Vivekanandan, the Leading Light’.

T’Puram: Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy will organise a drama ‘Sneha Swanthanam’ by Thiruvananthapuram Akshara Kala at Museum hall on December 30. The drama narrates problems in palliative care in health sector of the state.

Protest Meet

T’Puram: The women’s wing of Federation of Residents Association Thiruvananthapuram (FRAT) will organise a protest meeting against moral policing and kiss protest. The protest meeting will be held before the Secretariat on Monday.
