New Chief for Eastern Air Command

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Air Marshal C Hari Kumar, who hails from Chengannur in Alappuzha district, has taken over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command.

A fighter combat leader and a qualified flying instructor, Air Marshal C Hari Kumar was commissioned in the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on December 14, 1979. The Air Marshal has over 3,300 flying hours in various fighter aircraft, a defence spokesperson said.

Hari Kumar has held various important field and staff appointments during a career spanning 36 years.

Prior to taking over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command, he was Senior Air Staff Officer, South-Western Air Command, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

 He is a recipient of the Vayu Sena Medal and the Vishisht Seva Medal.
