Film Fest: First Prize Winner to Get Rs 1 Lakh

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Information and Public Relations Department with the technical support of C-DIT will conduct a short film festival ‘Nottam’ where the best film can take home a cash prize of Rs 1 lakhs. The second prize winner will be given Rs 75,000 and the third prize is Rs slated at Rs 50,000. Ten selected films will receive Rs 25,000 as the consolatory prize.

There will be a special prize for films which get shared the most on social networking sites-a sum of Rs 50,000.

The festival’s objective is to create awareness regarding the state government’s development and welfare activities among the public, especially the youth. The filmmakers have to make films based on the activities conducted in their respective regions. The theme of the film can be related to a difference that the activities created to living conditions, the unique activities conducted regionally or the relief that an aid programme brought.

The film can be shot on mobile camera or professional camera. The length of the film should be five minutes or less. The film will be broadcast on social network sites like Youtube.

Those interested are requested to visit www.nottam.kerala.gov.in, register and upload their films. The last date to register and upload is September 20. Documentary, docufiction or fiction can be submitted.
