Wildlife Week Competitions

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Various competitions will be organised among school and college students as part of the efforts to create awareness on the cause of wildlife conservation and to spread the message during the Wildlife Week which will be observed from October 2 to 8 across the country. District-level competitions will be held on October 2 and 3, while state-level contests will be held on October 8.

Competitions in water-colour painting and pencil drawing will be organised for LP and UP students while essay, water colour painting, quiz and speech would be organised for HS and college students.

Students from recognised government/aided/unaided colleges and schools can apply. Candidates above the HSS level can apply in the college category. Professional college students can apply. A quiz team should have two members, while there could be upto two candidates for other competitions.

Speech and essay would be held in Malayalam. Students bagging the first three places would receive a cash award and certificate, while those coming first in state will receive a rolling trophy too.

Candidates coming first in district-level events will be eligible to compete in the state. Registration will start on October 2. Pencil drawing and essay competition will be held from 9.30 am to 11.30 am, and 11.45 am to 12.45 am respectively. Water colour competitions will be held from 2.15 am to 4.15 am.
