Arogyakeralam Puraskaram Announced

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The Arogyakeralam Puraskaram  instituted for the best service rendered by the local bodies in the health sector was announced here on Thursday. Thrissur corporation, Nilambur municipality, Kollam district panchayat, Thodupuzha block panchayat and Chakkupallam grama panchayat bagged the first prizes in the respective categories.

Kottayam district panchayat and Kozhikode district panchayat bagged the second and third prizes respectively in the district panchayat category, Health Minister V S Sivakumar said.

Kochi corporation bagged the second prize in the corporation category. In the municipality category, Chalakudy and Paravoor bagged the second and the third prizes.

In the block panchayat category, Kalikavu and Perumpadappu in Malappuram district bagged the second and third prizes. Kilimanoor in Thiruvananthapuuram district and Mangattidavu in Kannur district got the second and third prizes in the grama panchayat section.

The local bodies which topped the prize will get Rs 10 lakh as prize money. The second and third prize winners will be awarded Rs 5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh respectively.

The Arogyakeralam Puraskarams helped in bringing in changes in the implementation of the various health-related programmes in the local bodies, Sivakumar said.

Governor P Sathasivam will give away the awards on September 18.
