Soap-making Begins in District Jail

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  In a novel initiative, the district jail authorities have undertaken soap-making training in association with the Sai Gramam. Loknath Behra, director, general of prisons and correctional services inaugurated the programme at Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. H Gopakumar, IG, prisons and correctional services presided over. K N Anandakumar, Kerala executive  director, Sri Sathyasai orphanage trust also spoke.  The representatives of Sai Gramam said they have been undertaking such endeavours to convey the message of ‘self reliance’. The soap-making training in the jail was undertaken as part of programme. The jail authorities also elaborated on the soap-making endeavour. Jail suprindent G Chnadrababu spoke at the event.
